Need an easy, last-minute Halloween treat? These cute Bat Oreo Pops are sure to be a winner with your little monsters... they can even help you make them.
What You'll Need
- Oreos
- Chocolate Frosting/Icing (we kept it simple and bought a tub ready to go)
- Lollipop Sticks
- Candy Eyes (we found these at Spotlight)
- Almond Slivers
For a nut free option substitute the Almond Slivers with Rice Puffs, or use a little white frosting to make the teeth.
How to Make
Step 1: Take two Oreos and split into halves
To make the body of the bat, simply take your Oreo biscuit, twist gently and pull the two sides apart. hopefully the cream filling stays on one side but if, like ours, you end up with a little cream on both sides use a knife to scrap off any stray filling.
Step 2: Make the Wings
Take the side of your biscuit without cream and cut in half which will make the wings.
Step 3: Assemble your Bat
Take one of your cream covered Oreo halves and add a little chocolate frosting. Then gently press the two wing pieces into the icing and add your lollipop stick in the centre.
Step 4: Add the top
Add your other Oreo with cream filling onto the top and sandwich together.
Step 5: Add the Eyes
Take two of your candy eyes and using a toothpick add a little frosting to the back then stick onto the Bat Oreo body.
Step 6: Add the Fangs
Take an almond sliver and cut in half, this will be the fangs. Next use your tooth pick again to add some frosting in the shape of a mouth below the eyes. Press the almond slivers on the frosting at either side of the mouth.
Step 7: Ready to Fly
Make as many of these as you need then it's time to dress up and prepare for the trick-or-treaters!
